Mourvèdre is the star of Bandol AOC, unlike any other appellation. It thrives here with its head in the sun (south exposed terraces) and feet in water (Mediterranean Sea).

Le Mourvèdre est la star de l’appellation Bandol, comme aucune autre. Il est parfaitement adapté au climat avec la tête au soleil (terrasses exposées au sud) et les pieds dans l’eau (mer Méditerranée).

The Vacqueyras AOC was created in 1990. Wines must be made of at least 50% Grenache noir, to which Syrah & Mourvèdre are blended.
Let’s taste a very good example from the co-op Rhonéa!

L’AOC Vacqueyras a été créée en 1990. Les vins doivent contenir au moins 50% de Grenache noir, auquel sont assemblés la Syrah et le Mourvèdre.

Do you know the appellation Vin de Pays du Vaucluse?
This appellation accounts for a small part of French wine production and is generally of a lower quality than IGPs and AOPs.
Today it includes more and more higher quality wines made outside of IGP and AOP regulations.
