Today, we are going to the oldest wine estate in Morgon, more precisely in the village of Villié-Morgon. This small town is located in the Rhone at the heart of Beaujolais, nestled in vallons, peaceful forests and rivers.
The estate has been founded in 1825 and is now run by the 11th family generation. The vine, wine, discovery and sharing are all true family passions. I wanted to pay Armand Heitz a visit. I really wanted it. Of course I can prove it: back on July 29 I took a 7-hour-long train ride to visit the estate. And do nothing else… I visited the lovely vineyards, tasted the wines and went right back home for another 7-hour-long train ride. Another epic wine trip in Burgundy!
You’re probably thinking I’m crazy. Well maybe I am… But I love Bourgogne and getting to visit another of its wonderful estates was worth it. Domaine Heitz-Lochardet was worth it!
