The Vacqueyras AOC was created in 1990. Wines must be made of at least 50% Grenache noir, to which Syrah & Mourvèdre are blended.
Let’s taste a very good example from the co-op Rhonéa!

L’AOC Vacqueyras a été créée en 1990. Les vins doivent contenir au moins 50% de Grenache noir, auquel sont assemblés la Syrah et le Mourvèdre.

This way they’re released from the 3rd Thursday of November.

This appellation accounts for a small part of French wine production and is generally of a lower quality than IGPs and AOPs.
Today it includes more and more higher quality wines made outside of IGP and AOP regulations.

This Domaine Le Van Secret de Juliette 2016 is a great example.
